Approximately 2.8% of the adult population suffers from severe mental health, such as schizophrenia or bipolar disorder, or from the more common, yet disabling, anxiety and depressive disorders or from alcohol and other substance abuse.
Psychology is an academic and practical field that involves the scientific study of mental functions and behaviours. Psychology has the immediate goal of understanding individuals and groups that involves establishing general principles as well as understanding specific and individual experiences of their people.
Occupational Therapy focuses on making individuals as independent and functional as possible within their activities of daily living. Activities of daily living include self-care, work, social and leisure. OT focuses on addressing the physical, psychiatric, paediatric, sensory, motor skills, geriatric and vocational components of the individual.

Our life coaches have degrees in psychology. Life coaching lies within their scope of practice.
Remedial therapy is aimed at children from Gr. 1 – 4 on an individual basis, twice a week. The aim is to bridge the gap between present learning and desired future learning. The focus is on assisting individuals who suffer from conditions that interfere with learning, such as ADD, ADHD, dyslexia (difficulty with reading, writing, and spelling) and dyscalculia (difficulty with mathematics).
Every person is different. Every human brain is different. All brains have parts that don’t work as well as others. For all children, it is important to determine what these strengths and weaknesses are so that they can be taught well and receive the appropriate accommodations and support for academic and life success.One of the ways to do this is with a psychoeducational assessment.
A dietician is a member of a medical and wellness team and has a unique role to play. Dietitians are health professionals who empower people to make better food choices in their day-to-day life as well as those with specific medical conditions. They are not Nay Sayers and evil doers when it comes to all matters tasteful on the palate. Rather, dietitians fully comprehend the social aspects related to eating and we are in agreement that eating is supposed to be a pleasurable experience! Healthy eating is central to the well-being of people and as mentioned above, the food choices you make today are key to the quality of life you will lead tomorrow.
MEDICO-LEGAL AND RAF ASSESSMENTS
Medico-legal assessments (expert opinion) provide an independent assessment for road accident fund (RAF) claims and medical negligence matters relating to public liability and common law. Medico-legal assessments provide sound evidence and recommendations from which to make informed decisions regarding compensation matters that may be upheld in a court of law. Assessments are carried out by our highly experienced psychologists.
SPEECH & LANGUAGE THERAPY
Speech-Language Pathology is the study of human communication disorders. Communication is a complex aspect of human behaviour. The ability to communicate is central to all that we do, to who we are, how we learn and how we relate to each other at home, at school and at work. A child or adult with a communication disorder may encounter many obstacles to learning, communicating and employment. Communication is involved in a lot of factors of the school day. Students need to listen, express answers, write responses, and interact with peers and teachers. Communication is a necessity in the classroom. Can you imagine the struggles one would have if one cannot do any of those things? Learning will be quite a challenge!
