Description

The Williams Family welcome you to Bronze Grove Farm and Chalets and invite you to enjoy all that it has to offer. We encourage you to wonder around and absorb the natural earthy pleasures of farm life.

The farm is situated at the foothills of the Langeberg Mountain Range and incorporates part of the famous Tradouw Pass and is about 3 kms from the quaint little village of Barrydale.

We are a working farm concentrating on olives. We hand harvest and produce extra virgin cold pressed olive oil and bottled olives.

We have, purely for our own and your viewing pleasure, introduced zebra and other various forms of antelope that roam freely over the fynbos covered veld with the indigenous buck, Nguni cattle and chickens.

ACCOMMODATION

Kumba Cottage is the original old farmhouse that has been restored, renovated and modernized without losing its charm of yesteryear.

There are two en-suite bedrooms with a double bed in each.

The unique showers are large and have a view over the veld where maybe an inquisitive zebra might stare at you occasionally.

The fully equipped kitchen and lounge open onto a covered patio with a built-in braai and seating.

In the lounge there is a fireplace to cosy up those chilly winter wine-evenings.

Kumba Cottage overlooks the dam and olive grove with open views of the veld and surrounding mountains offering wonderful sightings of the various animals that come down for a drink in the dam.

Kumba Khaya is adjacent to Kumba Cottage and is offered as a third en-suite bedsitter only to guests of Kumba.

It is a large bedroom cum sitting room with a tea/coffee station and mini fridge.

Kumba Khaya has its own separate entrance with a bench that overlooks the olive grove and mountains.

These two chalets are perfect for three couples wanting to escape city life and spend quality time together or a large family with grandparents.

Please note that Kumba Khaya forms part of the Kumba Cottage offering and will never be booked separately to strangers. This is to allow our guests total peace and privacy.

River Ikhaya is our romantic chalet with vast open spaces and has a river frontage.

It is perfect for honeymooners or for couples just wanting to enjoy privacy, peace and relaxation of body and mind.

It is an open planned studio type chalet with a queen size bed.

There is a fully equipped kitchenette, indoor fireplace for chilly karoo evenings, a free standing Victorian bath and a unique indoor/outdoor shower with a view of the beautiful mountains.

The patio is under cover with a built-in braai and seating, perfect for those lazy sundowner drinks.

Your own little jetty along the small river bank and outside lapa complete the picture.

Please note: River Indlu and River Ikhaya are totally separate from one another and are on the opposite side of the road to the farmhouse therefore allowing absolute privacy.

River Indlu is a cosy chalet offering privacy, tranquillity and beautiful mountain views. There might be a few Nguni cattle staring at you though or a few mischievous baboons for entertainment.

It has a river frontage with a little outside table for romantic sundowners or early morning coffee.

The open planned fully equipped kitchen cum living area, with a fireplace for ambiance and for warming up those karoo chills, opens onto a covered patio with built-in braai.

There are two en-suite bedrooms each with a double bed.

One bedroom has an indoor/outdoor shower with a view of the surrounding fynbos and the other bedroom has an open planned bath-tub also with a view. Each bedroom has its own private loo.

This chalet can be used as a private romantic getaway for two, a family needing quality time together or two couples needing to escape the hustle and bustle of city noise and breathe fresh farm karoo air.
